On April 28, 2023, we received the “Notification of Award” from China Power Complete Equipment Co., Ltd., the bidding agent, confirming that Cosin Solar has won the bid for Solar Field and MSR Systems equipment supply for the Jixi Base Jixilugu DC 1.4GW Hybrid Project (the “Project”) Unit 1 100MW CSP, meaning that Cosin Solar will provide advanced Solar field and MSR system and related services for the 100MW CSP part out of the Project.
The 100MW CSP, located in Tongyu County, Baicheng City, Jilin Province, is co-developed and owned by Jilin Electric Power Co., Ltd. and Power China Renewable Energy Co., Ltd. It will use tower CSP technology with an 8-hour molten salt thermal storage and will be connected to the substation of the PV power plant via a 220kV cable after completion.
The total installed capacity of the Project is 1.4GW, including 400MW PV, 800MW wind power and 200 MW tower CSP. The Project is divided into 2 units, with Tongyu County and Da’an Municipality each plan 100MW CSP. In November last year, Cosin Solar won the bid for the Baicheng Da’an 100MW CSP developed by CGN New Energy. Now after the Baicheng Tongyu 100MW CSP, Cosin Solar has captured all the purchase orders for the solar field and MSR systems of the Project.
Jixilugu DC 1.4GW Hybrid Project, being one of the first batch of China’s large-scale solar and wind hybrid projects developed on Gobi Desert, represents China’s exploration on a new development patch of “CSP+new energy.” The CSP part of the Project will adopt the solar thermal tower technology fully and independently developed by Cosin Solar, which demonstrates the recognition and confidence of the market and customers in our technology. Cosin Solar will also continue to play a leading role in the industry and leverage its advantages in CSP core technologies, engineering, operation, project management and other areas to ensure that all CSP projects are built with high quality and quickly go full production, enabling them to play their role in energy storage and peak-shaving in the new energy base projects.
