Three new CSP competency profiles could be part of the Chile Valora catalog

In order to allow the incorporation and development of highly trained human capital that works in the construction stage of a Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) plant, Chile Valora and the Ministry of Energy have defined, to start the application process , to incorporate three new job skills profiles in the institution’s catalog, this was announced at the Human Capital Table led by both entities and of which the Solar Power Concentration Association is a part.

The objective of this initiative is to continue attracting professionals who want to work in this industry and have their work skills formally recognized, in order to value their knowledge, continue to develop them professionally and encourage continuous learning.

In addition to preparing the labor field for future projects that will be developed in the sector. According to various estimates, CSP could reach 25% of total generation in the national electricity matrix in the coming years, which is why the need to advance in the development of professionals in this sector was identified.

In this regard, Cristián Sepúlveda, executive manager of the Concentrated Solar Power Association, pointed out that “We are at the right time to prepare for the development that CSP will have and we hope that in the coming months we will have clear signs that encourage the adoption and appreciation of the technology. Having more professional skills will allow us to better face the realization of new projects”.

In addition, it was highlighted that these new profiles would be added to the nine already created during 2020-2021 in the construction and operation stage, which have allowed the development of workers who currently belong to the team of the solar concentration plant, Cerro Dominador, located in the Antofagasta region.
